Prerequisites to Wealth Creation 2 – IDEDE Oseyande

Almost everyone will raise a hand to signify interest in wanting to be wealthy, but very few understand the intricacies of making and sustaining wealth.

Earlier, I asked if you really want to be wealthy or just only look wealthy? You might be wondering if there is a difference between the two. Now let me use this analogy, and I hope it helps.

Two young men wanted to be fit and smart, as they both admire how it makes athletes look cool in clothes and the stamina that comes with fitness. They both registered at a gym to work on themselves and get the desired fitness and shape. Three months later, they stumbled on an advert online displaying a device that can make you _look like someone that is physically fit and with a right shape._ “Why should I continue to stress myself with rigourous workout sessions when I can actually get the required shape with this device?” said one of the men and with that mindset, he opted out of the fitness and shape quest and went for the device. The other man continued to go to the gym year in, year out; he watched his eating habit and applied other disciplinary measures required to keep fit. Five years down the line, the reflection of his dedication to the course is obvious in his physique while the one that went for the device that would make him *”look like”* a physically fit person, is nowhere near being fit.

In the quest for wealth, so many people possess the _look like a rich man_ mindset without knowing that they do. Just like the man that went to get a device that would make him *_’look fit’, without actually making him fit_,* many people run after things that make them look rich when they are actually very poor!

These questions will help you know where you stand.

1: When you bought that wristwatch or that phone, what was the major reason? Was it that it was cheap and affordable or because it will make you look rich?

2. When you decided to rent that apartment that you now live in, was it because it was very affordable and conducive for you, or it was because you wanted to stay around rich people and be counted among the rich?

3. When you enrolled your kids in that international school, what necessitated that decision? That’s where kids with rich parents attend right?

Ironically, the things you do to make you look wealthy are the things that actually keep you below the class of wealthy people!

You want to be wealthy this year, keep tabs!
