In the recent development in Ogun state arm of African Action Congress, the leadership of the party in Ogun State have conveyed a change in composition of the State Executive Committee to the Acting National Chairman and the National Executive Committee (NEC).

The changes followed agreement reached by the State Executive Committee and all stakeholders that the chairman in person of Engr. Francis Abayomi steps down as party chairman for Com. Niniola Kazeem to step in as the new Chairman in the State. Other changes include the suspension of five executive members for anti-party activities and mismanagement of parties funds amongst other nefarious activities, the deputy chairman central, Adewale Adeeko, the state secretary, Ifemosu Michael, the youth leader,  the woman leader, were also relieved of their position.

The State Executive Committee is expected to align its operations to function seamlessly in the months ahead with elevation of Engr. Francis Abayomi, who took leave of absence to direct Madam Eniola Otasanya Gubernatorial Campaign and who had a time doubled as State Chairman of the party and Until his elevation as the party’s Acting National Secretary, Engr. Francis Abayomi was the Deputy National Secretary, since the constitution do not allow one person to hold two offices in AAC, Engr. Abayomi Francis now steps down for Com. Niniola Kazeem to steer the leadership of the State.

These actions are parts of the effort of the new leadership under the able Com. Leonard Ezenwa the Acting National Chairman to ensure an effective and efficient administration as well as solidifying and strengthening the party towards a better 2023 election and beyond. This is also to ensure no single person holds two portfolio simultaneously in the collective interest of the party.
