Otunba (Dr.) Michael Adeniyi Agbolade Ishola Adenuga Jr (born 29 April 1953) is a Nigerian business tycoon, and the second richest person in Nigeria. His company Globacom is Nigeria’s second-largest telecom operator, and also has a presence in Ghana and Benin and he has just bidded to buy Ivorian mobile telecoms operator Comium Cote d’Ivoire to the tune of $600million.

A higher estimate of Globacom’s revenues led Forbes to increase the value we assign to it. His exploration outfit, Conoil Producing, operates 6 oil blocks in the Niger Delta. He also owns real estate firm Proline Investments, which has hundreds of properties throughout Nigeria. Adenuga studied in the United States, getting an MBA at Pace University in New York, where he worked as a taxi driver to support himself. He returned to Nigeria and made his first fortune trading lace and Coca-Cola. Along the way he made friends with Nigerian military bigwigs who awarded him lucrative state contracts; those formed the foundation of his fortune.

He bagged the highest civil award in the country “The Companion of the Star of Ghana (CSG)” in recognition of his contributions to the growth and development of telecommunications across Africa. Dr. Adenuga was formally decorated with this honour by President John Mahama on Saturday, 29th of October, 2016 at the Accra International Conference Centre.
